Steps:- How to delete an outlook account
Note: closing your outlook means permanently deleting your account and all information related to the account. Once you delete your outlook account, you won’t be able to access the account and sign in to the Microsoft product and services you have been using. Make sure you don’t have any important data stored on your outlook account before deleting your account.
Here’s the method to delete outlook account.
Step 1: sign in to your outlook account.
Step 2: click on the gear icon (settings) appears at the top-right corner of the screen and click More Mail Settings.
Step 3: now you’ll be redirected to account management page. Click on account detail option (you’ll see the overview page of your account where you can edit, update, and delete your personal information).
Step 4: under the account details window, scroll down and locate close account option. Click on it, you will be redirected to close Microsoft account page where you’ll see what happens when you close an outlook account.
Step 5: scroll down and enter the password for your account in the password field (in order to verify that you’re the real account owner).
Step 6: now, you’ll see a message that you need to deactivate your Hotmail account before deleting outlook account. Click on the link “deactivate your Hotmail account” to deactivate your Hotmail account.
Step 7: once your Hotmail account will be deactivated, you will be redirected to a close your account page. Click on Close account button to permanently delete your outlook account.
Once you click the close account option, your account will be closed and Microsoft will reserve that email address for 270 days. After this time period, the email id will be publically available for other people to use.
